Hammer crushers are rarely used in sand and gravel aggregate production lines. Although the process is simple, the hammer crusher has low yield, and many powdery materials in finished products. What’s more, the finished aggregate may have micro-cracks, low compressive strength, affecting the aggregate quality, sales and prices, so it is often used as auxiliary sand making equipment.
Jaw crusher is often used as primary crushing equipment in stone aggregate production line, followed by impact crusher or cone crusher for medium crushing, and then sand making machine for fine crushing and reshaping.
Hammer crusher and jaw crusher are common rough crushing equipment, with large crushing ratio and simple structure. But the former works by impact force, and the finished product has better grain shape. The limitation is that the hammer crusher is not suitable for hard rock material processing. While jaw crusher can handle a wide range of various hard materials, but the limitation is that the shape of the finished product is not good, and it needs to be shaped by impact crusher or vertical shaft impact crusher.
