Traditionally, the wet pan mill has been used for grinding gold ore, as they are particularly effective in extracting gold particles from ore by grinding it with water and mercury. What Are the Parts of Wet Pan Mill?

The main spare parts of a wet pan mill typically include the central driving shaft, bearing seat, belt pulley, motor, speed reducer, grinding base, grinding pan or wheel, sealing cover, roller connector, etc. The grinding pan is a drum-shaped container where the grinding process takes place.

The vulnerable parts of a wet pan mill include grinding roller, grinding base, and water basin. Grinding rollers are subjected to wear and tear due to their direct contact with the grinding materials and the grinding pan.

How Does Wet Pan Mill Work?

The motor first drives the decelerator, then the central drive shaft transfers the horizontal shaft to move the roller in an anticlockwise direction, so that the material in the wet pan mill is ground into fine particles.

The roller mixes the material and water thoroughly inside of the wet pan mill, and the fine particles will float to the upper surface, which can be discharged through the overflow discharge port. The coarse-grained minerals will settle at the bottom and be continuously ground into small fines that reach the standard.
