Although there are several models of sand and stone crushing machines, the crushing methods of materials are divided into three categories: squashing, splitting, and breaking. These crushing principles have different tastes and are suitable for processing. The types of materials are also different.

①Squashing. The block material is placed between two planes and pressure is applied. The block material is broken due to stress exceeding its compressive strength. This method is suitable for crushing hard materials.

② Splitting. The block material is squeezed by the working surface with sharp edges, and the tensile stress on the surface of the squeezing force exceeds the tensile strength of the bulk material and is split. The tensile strength of brittle materials is much lower than the compressive strength, so splitting should be used. ③Breaking. The block material is bent and broken because the bending stress exceeds the bending strength of the material. In most cases, the crushing of blocks is the result of the combined effects of the various methods mentioned above, with only primary and secondary points. In production, the crushing method can be selected according to the nature of the material (mainly hardness and toughness).
