Symons cone crusher is suitable to crush various kinds of ores and rocks with medium or above hardness. It is the secondary crusher in the stone production line. It is named after the American engineer, Symons, who first developed the cone crusher in the 1920s.

Symons cone crusher is an improved, optimized, and updated replacement product of PY series spring cone crusher. Compared with PY series spring cone crusher, it has features of high crushing efficiency, low operation cost, convenient adjustment, economical use, etc.

What Are the Parts of Symons Cone Crusher?

These are the key structural components of a Symons cone crusher: main shaft, main frame, feed hopper, mantle (crushing cone), concave (bowl liner), eccentric assembly, adjustment ring, gear, hydraulic system, drive unit (the motor, drive pulley, and drive belt), etc.

While a Symons cone crusher is designed to withstand heavy-duty use, certain parts such as mantle, concave, and eccentric bushing are prone to wear. Reasonable materials of spare parts and structure design improve its service life.

How Does Symons Cone Crusher Work?

The crushing cavity of Symons cone crusher consists of the moving cone and the fixed cone. The moving cone is installed on the upper of the main shaft under pressure, while one end of the main shaft is inserted into the conical hole of the eccentric bush. The conical hole of the eccentric shaft bush is internally equipped with the bronze bush or nylon bush.

When the transmission gear drives the eccentric shaft bush, the main shaft inserted into the eccentric shaft bush drives the moving cone to keep cycloidal rotation so that the space between the mantle and concave will regularly reduce and increase to squeeze materials and discharge the final crushed materials.
