Descriptions:
Vertical shaft impact crusher, known as VSI sand making machine, is widely used in crushing and reshaping rock and artificial sand making. It is suitable for crushing brittle materials with Mohs hardness below 9.
What Is a Vertical Shaft Impact Crusher?
Vertical shaft impact crusher, known as VSI sand-making machine, is used as a tertiary crusher stage or reshaping stage to get a high ratio of fine material. It has two modes: complete center feeding and center feeding with annular waterfall feeding, which makes a longer service life. It is an ideal equipment in the field of artificial sand making and stone shaping.
VSI sand maker is a high-performance vertical shaft crusher suitable for various minerals. It can crush fragile materials with Mohs hardness below 9 rather than viscous materials or stone materials containing much solid. It is the latest type of sand making machine, which saves 50% energy than the traditional sand maker.

What Are the Features of Vertical Shaft Impact Crusher?
1. Integrate the function of sand making and granule shape optimization.
2. Low wear costs due to unique rock-on-rock crushing.
3. Good cubical shape of final products, reasonable sand grading.
4. High-performance production efficiency, and low power consumption.
5. Rotor design of deep-cavity is optimized then the amount of materials is increased by 30%.
6. Special sealing structure in the bottom of the spindle to ensure no oil sealing and leaking.
7. Adopting a light oil lubrication system can effectively dissipate heat during the operation of the spindle bearings.
8. During the production process, the stone can form a protective bottom layer, so the machine body has little wear and tear and is durable.
What Are the Parts of Vertical Shaft Impact Crusher?
A vertical shaft impact crusher consists of the feed hopper, impeller, crushing chamber, guard fence, side plate, body cylinder, discharging opening, belt pulley, main motor, and other spare parts. Compared with other sand makers, VSI sand making machine has a more advanced rotor and crushing chamber design, and the sand particle shape is better.
Here are some vulnerable parts of a VSI crusher: impeller assembly, side plate, impact block, and rotor tip set. These parts should be inspected regularly and replaced as needed to ensure optimal crusher performance.
How Does Vertical Shaft Impact Crusher Work?
The raw materials are fed into the VSI crusher by the feeder. The materials fall to the distribution disc from the rim of the scattering disc. They are divided into two parts. One part falls into the high-speed centrifugal plate from the feeding pipe at the center of the distribution disc. This part is given high rotating speed and flung out through the runner of the centrifugal plate.
Firstly, the flying materials collide with other materials that fall from the rim of the distribution disc. Then all the materials impact the lining of the crushing cavity. As mentioned above, the materials will be impacted, rubbed, and ground repeatedly until they fall from the crushing cavity into the discharge hopper.
