Introduction

An overflow type ball mill is a kind of grinding machine within the ball mill category. Ball mills are used for grinding numerous materials into fine powder or small particles or for ore dressing Ball mills can be classified based on the discharging method into grate type and overflow type, and according to the grinding method into wet type and dry type. The main component of a wet overflow ball mill is a cylinder with a larger diameter and smaller length that rotates via transmitting machinery. Different from a grate discharge mill, the overflow type ball mill enables the ground material to continuously overflow from the mill through the trunnion without screens or grates to block the particles. The basic components of an overflow type ball mill include the feeder, cylindrical shell, grinding media, feed device, discharge device, beaning, ring sealing, drive part, lifting device, coupling, motor, etc. Grinding media balls are made of steel, ceramic, or other materials.
